Attempted Abduction

On May 10, 2013, the Vinton County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a male subject trying to abduct a female who was broke down on SR 32 near CR 43A. Deputies responded and a search was conduct for the suspect vehicle. Neighboring counties were notified and a Jackson County Deputy stopped a vehicle matching the description at SR 93 and US 32. Sheriff Shawn Justice and Deputy Ryan Cain met with the Jackson County Deputy and the suspect, while Deputy Mike Kemmerling stayed with the victim and received further information and descriptions. After an investigation, the suspect was arrested. Justin Secrest, age 30 of Lucasville, Oh, was arrested for Attempted Kidnapping. While searching Secrest pursuant to arrest, Narcotics were found. Secrest was held at the Jackson County Jail on charges of possession of narcotics while the case is reviewed by Prosecuting Attorney Trecia Kimes-Brown.
On Tuesday 14, 2013, Secrest was charged with Kidnapping, a felony of the first degree. Secrest received a $100,000 bond through Vinton County Court. NO OTHER INFORMATION IS BEING RELEASED AT THIS TIME.Justin Secrest
